About Us
Our History
How a handful of local advocates grew into a network for Blair and Huntingdon County veterans.
BHVAN began in 2024 as a loose affiliation of local organizations and individuals — all dedicated to helping veterans in Blair and Huntingdon Counties, Pennsylvania. What started as neighbors comparing notes has grown into a coordinated effort to make sure no local veteran has to navigate the system alone.
Our Story So Far
Where it started
A loose affiliation of local organizations and individuals came together around a shared goal: helping Blair and Huntingdon County veterans and their families find the support they had earned.
Finding our rhythm
The group began meeting regularly, building relationships between nonprofits, county Veterans Affairs offices, employers, and community volunteers, and mapping out the resources available across the region.
Bringing it online
BHVAN launched its resource hub at bhvan.org — gathering trusted local, state, and federal veteran resources in one easy place, kept up to date for the community.
Quarterly Meetings
BHVAN meets quarterly to coordinate efforts, share updates, and keep our resources current. Meetings are held in person and are also available virtually, so everyone in the network can take part.
